Pointless

When the highlight of your day 
is pointless,

The pointlessness of your day  
is highlighted.

This is a poetry version of one of my stories 

The Square
Sweaty bodies

Too hot for passion

lay lifeless on damp sheets.

Below

shadows stretch lazily

Empty tables

attract flies.

A thousand hangovers

Crammed inside my

head.

An uncertain future following Brexit, some political angst. 

Future

Lucid

visions of the future that

I thought had been consigned to the past.

Looking backwards

whilst moving forwards

The sky hints at

summer's gone

But the the wind foretells

the winters ahead.
