Scenes from Prague part 3

The Giant
The lighting flashed around the starry night sky. There were no clouds and no thunder just the flashes of lightning far off in the distance. The air was fresh, breathable, bearable, while the crickets chirped happily filling the night with a tropical soundtrack. I heard the voice first, a deep, booming voice that made me look up from my screen. He was a bear of a man, a hulking figure, with a deep voice and huge arms. The girl he was with was slender, petite - all woman but a tiny woman. As they walked up the street arm in arm it would have looked comical had it not looked so scary. Such was their size difference it looked like he was kidnapping her. But her arm was round his back and their happy chatter suggested all was well in the world, so I guessed it must have been a case of opposites attract not opposites attack.

The Bride

‘One more’ the bride said to the photographer who was beginning to lose the will to live. There were only about 60 people at the wedding but all of them had been photographed at least three times - with only the bride, with only the groom with the bride and groom. So far it had been logical the bride's family, the groom's family, the groom's friends,, bride's colleagues etc. but now the bride was collecting a weird, eclectic mix of people together; two of her male friends, one colleague, the groom's uncle, one of the ushers, one of the bridesmaids and one of the waiters working in the hotel. There seemed to be no logical connection to the collection but the bride was quite adamant that she wanted this photo with these people. She stood with a bemused looking groom and the motley crew and smiled sweetly as the photographer closed the shutter.
As the photographer was packing up, the bride approached him. ‘Don’t put that last photo in with the others,’ she said, slipping him a £20 note. Just email it to me.’ The photographer shrugged, pocketed the money and noticed just the hint of a wicked look in the bride’s eyes.
